Have you noticed that shingles are missing on your roof or that there are cracked shingles and bent flashing? Generally, if you can see any of these things on the top of your Houston roof, this is a good sign that you need a roof repair or roof replacement. But which one?
Almost everyone hopes that a roof repair will be enough to tide them over, but sometimes a full roof replacement is the better option. Here are a few factors that go into making that decision.
First of all, you need to think about the age of your roof. If your roof is only a few years old, then repair should be adequate in most cases so long as extensive storm damage is not the issue.
On the other hand, if your roof is over 15 years old, then roof replacement will make the most logistical and financial sense.
Second, you need to look at the extent of the damage. Some damaged shingles or a few cracked shingles can easily be patched and replaced. However, if the damage is widespread, it is more likely that roof replacement will be your better option to ensure the structural integrity of your roof.
